A Little Wait Poem by Rutvi Padhy

A Little Wait

To let thy fingers entwine with mine,
To let thy soft breath tease my skin,
To let thy heart beat closer to me,
To let myself yet again love thee,

I'll need some time...

To let my tears forget those dreads,
To let my eyes overlook thy mistakes,
To let my soul jitter at thy touch,
To let myself trust thee once more,

I'll need some time...

Yes, it's selfish I say these words, true,
Yet, I'll need thou to wait some more,
I'll need time, a while to heal,
To let the past forgive thy deeds,

I'll need just some time...

So if it's true,
If thy love be earnest,
If it's true,
If heaven forgives thy sins,
If it's true,
If our hearts ever mean to beat in sync,
Think of it as a test of thy love, or just a plea,
But I have to ask thou to wait,
Wait for me...
