A Loss Poem by Ray Hansell

A Loss

Right now I'm in need
Of some divine intervention
God please listen
I need Your attention

Someone very close to me
Has recently died
It seems all that I do
Is sit around and cry

Tell that she's alright
Up there in your kingdom
Right now what I need
Is a little bit of wisdom

I don't why You took her
For it was not her time
She so much enriched
This broken heart of mine

I know we have no choice
When it's our time we must go
But I need You to know
That I loved her so

So I'm looking for the strength
So I can carry on
She may be up there with You
But from my heart she'll never be gone

So, if I can lean on you
That would be great
Now that I have reached out for You
I hope it's not too late

I just need to know
That her suffering is all done
She was the greatest person
She was my only one
