calm as a child in sweet slumber
of such placid dreams
with face of gilded amber
unto I, bonnie she seems
her lips art crimson
with eyes so deep
oh! ! i long for her but none
even in my mirthless sleep
for she rejects my yearn
with an elusive smile
the sound of my humbled heart
she harks, for but a while
with her act of disdain
more bonnie she seems
calm as a child in sweet slumber
with such placid dreams
