A Matter Of Discretion Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

A Matter Of Discretion

Rating: 5.0

A pleasant face…the kind that conceals
Controlling the emotions that honesty feels
Each one of us is a pretender of sorts
Sometimes imprecise…but giving support

Relaying a cheerful and affirmative evaluation
Given with restraint … trying to bypass frustration
Spoken with reassurance and avoiding conflict
Looking for the positive …not faults that convict

Sometimes we wear a mask simply to be kind
With a hope that it is confidence they will find
Not really lying…just leaving out harshness
Delicately referred to as a portrayal of tactfulness

With helpful suggestions the outcome could improve
A potentially explosive verdict can be fluently defused
Thoughtful intentions allow ambitious dreams to grow
The results of discretion will be revealed tomorrow

I like very much the way you tell Truth through delicate words. Pleasant faces and masks, this is the law of social world, through which your eyes go to catch the authenticity of people. A clear sweet poem :)

A really good poem capturing how a lot of us 'wear the mask' in order to portray orderliness (sp?) . Really like this. HG: -) xx
