A Never Ending Despair Poem by Jadey Marin

A Never Ending Despair

Rating: 4.5

I am starting to think that I have a stalker. That has an obsession and does it with the utmost passion. Ruthless and cruel would be a understatement.

It whispers to those I hold dearest, whispering sweet nothing creating an illusion while it sucks the life out of him, out of us. Before we know it screeches so loud that everything starts to bleed. We are no longer blind to it nor deaf to it. It smiles, with razor sharp teeth. Confident it strolls about knowing that its winning once again, savoring every tear, every pain. 'He is mine' it pronounces. As if the doctor heard him, he says: 'I'm sorry there is nothing we can do'. It starts to laugh loudly.
Cancer is its name and Evil is its game.

It recognizes me pushes me down on my knees. Weaponless and hopeless once again. Feeding on my despair. Licking my tears with its poisonous tongue. I have lost four good people to this Evil and now I am losing one again. It has been almost two years since I lost my grandfather and my Great uncle, now it claims my last remaining grandfather. I have grown tired and defeated for the Cancer is taking a piece of me once more. The same horrid ballad just another victim, another song, sung by you.

A good depiction of a merciless devourer - cancer, well articulated and insightfully penned with conviction. A tragic story beautifully narrated. Thanks for sharing Jadey. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
