A New Beginning Poem by Peter Karweru

A New Beginning

Rating: 4.5

Once you get to love,
You see a beginning of an end,
All that matters is where you tend,
And you just out the past behind,
We overshadow what was,
By what is by every means,
But what we forget is,
That that the past entails,
Every bit of today's,
Outcries and breakthroughs.

Just when you think you have hit the dead bolt,
You always find yourself writing this jolt,
Am a looser is all there is for others to see,
But even if they don't get to see,
Your conscience just can’t let you be,
Or either your body and soul can’t agree,
On anything else but what is in decree,
On what you have you even forget,
To give thanks in any way best,
Love has crumbled every bit,
Of what this man has got,

This is not just a by the way,
Coz since love came my way,
It’s a part of me really,
I know I’m not crazy,
But was loving this lady.
