A New Dawn

World lets you grieve, tears you apart
Wind blows out candles' flames
To settle darkness in your heart
A beast that no one tames

It bites you, batters every hope
That might be left within
And strangles you with velvet rope
Plaited of fear and sin

But know that rainbow's colours shine
Just after raging storm
And if you want red roses find
They'll greet you with their thorns

Still for a soul that's filled with light
The sun shall rise again
And lead you through the gates of night
To keep you safe, my friend
