A Pallette Of Love - Poem by Dilantha Gunawardana

He stealthily crept towards his soul mate
In a vibrant lavender sundress
With eyes glimmering like twin sapphires
And lips the color of a robin's breast
With rings of jade bouncing off her ear lobes
Her skin a tapestry of imperial topazes
As she dazzled like a rainbow under the monsoons
He took a ring embellished with a pink diamond
Went down on one knee
And whispered a hackneyed line, in a poetic dressing
For the lass to jump to the azure-veiled heavens
In a downpour of crystalline tears
As strings of alabaster stubs glittered effortlessly
Between her ruby-coated lips
As the silver arrowhead of Cupid unveiled
A kaleidoscope of color
On a divine palette of love
