A Passage In Time. Poem by Janet Ramsden

A Passage In Time.

Her body is tired and old,
ravaged with disease. Her
skin, frail and wrinkled and
blue veins protrude, so
thin, it flakes with ease.

Her dreams of a future
long gone and past.
Memories are all she has
left. She knows her time
is near and waits, to
leave, at last.

She kneels at her bed and
prays, for God to hear her
please? A shaft of light,
her Father within,
arms outstretched
says, 'come lass.'
Welcome
home.
