A Permanent Mark Poem by Allyson Gordon

A Permanent Mark

Rating: 5.0

I’m screaming…
It’s all too much,
I’m fed up now
I’ve had enough!

I can’t cope any more
I want to give in right now
What am I living for?
Who, what, why and how?

I hate this feeling,
It follows me around
Everything I’m now revealing,
Every sight, thought and sound

Everything’s all dark,
It’s like this all the time
Like a permanent mark,
A haunting crime

Is this depression going to leave?
Will it ever go away?
Normality I want to retrieve,
My sanity I want to stay

This is a very good poem Allyson. The reading can feel the pain you write of through the descriptive wording you provide. Top marks! -Michael
