A Poem For A Friend? Poem by K.N. Sheldon

A Poem For A Friend?

I've been there, So constant.
But you aren't here, Go figure.
You're always so sad, I can't help.
I'm always so sad, You won't try.
I stand the voice of reason, You cry even more.
I give in to your desire, Lies don't work.
You need comfort, I'm so warm.
I need a friend now, I get the cold shoulder.

Suicide Hotline should be my name.
Yours should be One Way Street.
Up-late nights to console you.
You're too tired to hear me out.
Yell at me, but if it helps.
I'm not worth living for.
I loved you eternally.
I'm a picture just to talk to.

I'm always by your side, You're my best friend.
What's the reason why, I'm not pretty.
I catch you at every fall, I'm so loyal.
I've hit the ground countless times, You just sob.
Not one thing I wouldn't do, Determined.
Just one thing could get me through, Not worth it.
I'm the only friend you have, But I'm here.
You're my last friend, But you're gone.
