Today is a rare occasion once again
The eighth of March, for a lady to win.
She be generously rewarded by all dear,
Catered and spoiled by relatives so tender.
Baby girls have been treasured baby flowers,
The apple of eye by folks at all connected.
Young ladies are precious pearls newly veiled,
Pursued and adored by varied admirers.
And for ladies middle-aged and the aged,
They also get gifts worthy for their souls:
Shining in the hearts of their loved ones,
Even more treasured by dear ones like gold.
So, as a lady I feel less and less regret,
Lucky more than ever, praised and protected.
The "fairer and weaker sex" surely regarded,
Yet so well we survive this competitive world.
What have we done, to deserve so much love?
On this special day I venture to make a request.
How can we be able to feel so complete?
Without gentleman guardians, as partners?
March 7th,2009.

from China Highlights, online: Every year, China celebrates International Women's Day on March 8. Slightly different from the day's original focus of celebrating women's economic, political, and social achievements, Women's Day became simply an occasion for men to express their love for women in manner similar to a combination of Valentine's Day and Mother' s Day Bri wonders: Do any Chinese WOMEN express their love on 'Women's Day...for other women? ? i hope so. bri :)
Well, indeed it is quite true, and many people ridicule the Day by exaggerating the greetings in posters, so much so that some (young) women hate the false gestures of celebration.Do any Chinese WOMEN express their love on 'Women's Day...for other women? ? The answer is YES, usually daughters for their mother, with gifts and flowers and sometimes gift of money in electronic red envelopes~ :)
