A Poem Has A Memory Of Its Own Poem by Shalom Freedman

A Poem Has A Memory Of Its Own

A POEM HAS A MEMORY OF ITS OWN

A poem has a memory of is own
It has a music and a melody
If it sounds as it should
It will demand to be reheard.

If it is simply words
Then it will go on and on
Without beauty
Without longing
Without mystery.

A poem has a music of its own
And even when it cannot resound strongly
It needs to be heard
Again and again
If it is to be remembered
And loved.

have you heard the poem sing the music, the meter it does bring whenever my ears, does it meet the eyes get a feast, the soul gets a treat....
