A Poem Wants Me Poem by Shalom Freedman

A Poem Wants Me

A POEM WANTS ME

A poem wants me-
I want to walk up the hill
In silence-
I have too many errands today
But it will not let me go-
It makes me sit in the shade
And write this down
As if my every little thought
Must be a part of it-
A poem wants me
Can it now let me go?
