A Rainy Day Poem by Richmon Rey Jundis

A Rainy Day

Rating: 5.0

My soul's voice is cold,
Heart is raining blood,
Mind is getting ready to explode like thunder.
Tears slowly pour down
As I sit alone,
Behind the window pane,
And gaze on the crying gloomy sky
While I contemplate
To my mistakes
that put me in chain
In this eternal pain.

This day of disdain is eternal.
It seems to be a curse
Casted by the shadow of my yesterday.
I cannot keep my thoughts stop
From raining the feeling of painful love,
Love that is slowly melting me
Like a salt soaked on a rain.

My mind was once a colorful world,
But now,
It is a world flooded with fear,
Fear of loneliness and abandonment,
As my thoughts keep on pouring
Happy memories that are slowly turning cold as 'Amihan'.

Aimless soul,
Bleeding heart,
Anxious mind:
Phrases that can describe my awkward disposition now,
While I stare blankly on the rain
That splashes on the window pane.

This sad day accompanied by music of rain
Is a reminder for me,
For even the happy sky needs rest,
And so am I,
And even the weeping of sky
Causes the plants to grow
And so my negative feelings
Can be beneficial, too.
