A Safe Imprisonment Poem by reuben dale

A Safe Imprisonment

Every day, is all the same
Change I await but don’t embrace
So secure where I stand
Yet so alone here I stand
Physical barriers are not my lining
Fears are my eternal binding

Empowered by you,
yet I drag you down
My only salvation, despises me
I must release
but alone I cannot
an unforgiving loop
I’m forever caught
