A Saint Poem by Charlotte Fitzjohn

A Saint

Always love,
Always care,
Never lonely,
I’ll know you’ll be there.

Perfect life,
Will you ever go wrong?
A change, or something different,
A change in my song.

Sometimes it feels perfect,
Oblivious to all others pain,
Ignorant to all the bad around,
Does this make me vain?

Don’t put a foot wrong,
Never have time for the rest,
Love songs and flying thoughts,
Always fought for the best.

But I cant hear the children crying,
Can’t see the dead that lay,
I sit around in my little world,
Still managing to fly.

But there is one thing that scares me,
And that is if my wings do brake,
To leave me here, with all the broken people,
Dwelling in their desolate place.
