A Smile As Is Said Poem by Francis Duggan

A Smile As Is Said

A Smile as is said does not cost one a thing
And a flutter of joy to someone it may bring
A stranger to you who does seem a bit down
That you smile at and say hello to when passing in the town
The cheerful one is one of others wish to know
As she or he does have the bright inner glow
Happy people does make new friends every day
Since about them they do have quite a cheerful way
Sad looking peopleofsome pity one must feel for indeed
Of every friend they have of they are in need
Since their friends are as one would expect in the few
That people are attracted to happy people is not saying anything new
A smile does not cost a thing as some does say
And it may help to bring joy to somebody's day.
