A Smile Of Innocence Poem by Deb Panda

A Smile Of Innocence

Waited! Smile of your innocence-
In humid summer, in its brief teen-
To be a citizen of truth, yours-
Endurance of those veins, fastening clan.

Harboured, in thoughtful resilience-
Grey-rests the forehead, to sweeten
Pain –writ large on wry smile-
Of the mid-day hour, to bolt, lightening!

Relieved! For vision is yours Autocracy-
Live – brittle truth, fountain of mistrust;
Pain- heaved a sigh, illness of millennium,
Lost! Lords of the medieval hearts!

Foresee! Crusades for a pilgrim soul-
In scant possession, bereft of curves, lies
Yours, spirit of my shrine, muse to pen-
Never collide, Poor, Knave; wrinkles of my days!
