A Sonnet Poem by Mignon Isaacs Bryant

A Sonnet

With all my heart, your praises I will sing,
Cry to the world the wonder of your note!
And hope that all my prayers and praises bring
The love of you, upon whom I must dote.
Oh, faith! If I could have one prayer come true,
There is no doubt which would be granted me.
As I’ve but one prayer, after meeting you,
There's only one the granters here could see.
Please hear my longing, wonders of the air!
Oh, see my pain, thou demons of the sea!
Be with me now, please hear my true despair.
Oh, keep me from my love, and set me free.
I beg of you, please save me from his charm.
Take all my love, and I’ll be safe from harm.
