A Stolen Embrace Poem by Stacy Brown

A Stolen Embrace

A thoughtful stare, stolen at the turn of a smile
A memory she knew she wanted to keep
a picture she wished she could share.
An innocent embrace, so smooth it's almost ignored
a feeling she never wanted to forget
still hangs on her skin
A reluctant kiss, with a questioning breath
a crippling stop of her body and mind
She leaned in for the kiss again
The hint of laughter creeps across her dimples
I crack a joke, just to hear it one more time
it sounds like an alarm, awaking the soul
I erupt in to my imagination
and soar through the confusion and doubt
slowly calming my questioning second thoughts
Shes all the things I could become
no, she nothing I can comprehend to be
but she compliments the mess so well
for a stolen embrace. Id give anything
