A Suppressed Sob
When I write Gaza,
my pen bleeds red,
I am drowned
in the sea of hatred.
a million corpses dance
to the slowest tune
of a Sufi song of dhikr
with withering smile.
I try to smile too,
but my lips quiver
in a suppressed sob.
Someone plays an Ayin
on her Ney.
Words
1) dhikr- literally means ‘remembrance'. It is a form of Sufi Islamic prayer in which phrases or prayers are repeatedly chanted in order to remember God.
Music is central to the Sema ceremony of the whirling dervishes.
2) ‘Ayin' is a form of Sufi music, a vocal and instrumental piece featured often the Sema ceremony.
3) ‘Ney' is a reed flute, a Turkish classical instrument used in Sufi music.
It looks like I am in the midst of these activities, though using the foreigns words, I do understand the meaning of it Not because of myself, BUT because you worded this poem in true Poetry and Poetry speaks to me, nomatter the subject
Every Palestinian is facing an inevitable murder anytime now. But uncle sam just ‘stands and watches'…. Shame on his love for liberty, love and equality

I don't have a right to say this, because the singularist government of my nation sides with the tofn. I am just pained and hang my head in shame!

The martyrs are in a much better place than this blood drippen ugly earth. A very very sensitive poem. My eyes are wet with pain praying for peace. Thanks for writing for them.
Very true, Aarzoo. The people of Palestine, betrayed time and again by the entire world (which now includes India) are facing extinction.
