A Thief Was Here Poem by Keegan Cooke

A Thief Was Here

Look, see this fire in my eyes
I've been wanting something
I've been waiting for a while

It's almost unbelievable
But again it's mine
My heart flutters and my spirits climb

My soul sings for you inside
We've been through a lot together
The time without you seemed almost forever

You are my angel, and you are my treasure
These words are flowing through me like a deep river
If you only knew how much you mean to me

Take a long look and maybe you will see
This feeling had no price, but it wasn't free
If you feel the same way, feel free to agree

My doubts are gone, and I truly believe
I know in my heart, It's you and me
My love for you did not stop, it's still going

It has never died, it only keeps on growing
You know me better than anyone before
My wings are back, and I'm ready to soar

I want to take you with me to the sky
Just us alone in the air, miles high
Our own world surrounded by magnificent lights

After the sun goes down, we can float among the stars
Knowing this night is simply ours
I could sit and stare into your eyes for hours

The stain glass windows to your soul
Their beauty lies so untold
I want to look into those eyes forever

Your voice melts my heart, no matter how cold
The time I spend with you is more precious than gold
I swear I could write about your beauty forever

You are a song by yourself, and you keep getting better
What you have stolen of mine is a precious work of art
Be careful with it, for you have stolen my heart
