A Truth Poem by T.A. Rosenbaum

A Truth

What comes after here is purest truth indeed
That when a mind is vexed
with a heavy heart in need
From deep troubles
and oceans of pain
Repeated stumbles
without refrain
Strength and hope will return, Stern and unbending
Yearning to set the scales aright
Spurning sorrow's very sight!
What blight remains despite this mending?
Stern and unbending
Muddling the greatest minds with strain?
Oceans of pain?
The mightiest heart humbles
Deepest of troubles
Make even the ancient wise-men perplexed
When a mind is Vexed
One final point I must concede
With a heavy heart in need.
That what was said at first, was not a truth, indeed.
