A Woman's Own Poem by Randy McClave

A Woman's Own

I cannot ever get pregnant
So, I have no dog in that fight,
I don't have a uterus
So, I shouldn't vote on what is wrong or right.
I can't tell a woman what protection to use
During her menstrual days,
Nor could I ever tell a rape victim
She is glowing and pregnant, so let's give out praise.
What do I think about abortions
Well, I think that they are all wrong,
But, I don't believe they are a type of murder
Especially when my brother fought the Vietcong.
Murder is always murder
No matter however that you may look at it,
In war, or in any dispute or in a crime
Or just from having a jealous fit.
What if their is incest
Or if she keeps the child she would most certainly die,
What if she's underage and pregnant
Or what if she doesn't even know the guy.
I will proudly vote about laws about my taxes
Because them I always must pay,
Faithfully I'll vote for a church's deacon
Because, that is where I worship and pray.
I will happily vote for gun control
If it's ever put up on the ballots for a vote,
And I will vote for it without a thought or doubt
Because guns causes murder, I quote.
If a woman is forced to have a baby
Who will then pay all the child's expense's,
Who will pay for its clothes and its toys and needs and foods
And take care of all upcoming consequences.
I don't want anyone especially the government to tell me
That a vasectomy I must someday take,
And I don't want to be told that I have to take a shot
It's my body not yours for heavens sake.
If ever upon the voting ballot
There is a law or a rule pertaining to only a female,
Why should any man be voting on it
Unless, maybe he is scared and frightened of the frail.
If a woman is not allowed to have an abortion
And if she attempts to have one they'll call a cop,
If a woman doesn't want to keep a child
What men are now ready and prepared to marry or adopt.
