If you'd like to know about August
I can show you chrysanthemums
Covered with dust, or Rosy Dawn
Coming late and leaving the
Slated earth with a dry mouth.
I can show you Sol
Falling from his noon height,
Making dim shadows crawl
From motionless trees,
Reaching as gray memories
For the day's first light.
How is it, Love, that you
Remain so still in my shadow
As it fades into evening?
When instead, you could be
The sun splashed moments
Of the hours ahead.
The way you've built up the poem is superb...the flower, the sun to end with august love in your shadows with splashing moments...very nicelycrafted...thanks
