Above It All Poem by Augustine Sheek

Above It All

Rating: 5.0

I am nervous and weak
I can feel my heart beat
as I muster up the courage for you to see me.

I have hidden and gawked
at things I wanted
but never gave much thought to having

I have crawled in a hole
that's too small to love
hidden from everything just to be sure it doesn't happen.

Should I give it a chance
you know, not run
but just dance,
as though the beat of my heart is the music
that fills voids of uncertainty.

One day will tell what hell I lived,
what pain i endured.
Just to be a we that never would be, the answer or key
but a disaster of failure.

I added the fuel and it burned until all that was left was the essence that freed
and built up a creed
for the need to be me and be free
like a bird above the clouds, above it all
