Abstract Affair Poem by William Brooks

Abstract Affair

Everytime I'm around you,
My brain fails
My heart falls.
Breath becomes arrested.

(IF ONLY YOU COULD SEE THIS!)
How much I need it.
(EVERYTIME I BLINK)
I see you start to shrink
(AWAY)

You're no longer in my sight
I fear the cold, lonely nights to come.
Not seeing you in my dreams feels erroneous.

Everytime I'm around you,
My brain fails
My heart falls.
Breath becomes arrested.

(IF ONLY I COULD LEAVE THIS!)
So tired from the constant fight
(EVERYTIME I START TO THINK)
I reach my brink
(BREAK!)

You're no longer in my thoughts.
I fear the decadence of my brain
Not thinking of you all day feels hideous
As hideous as our abstract affair!

Everytime I'm around you,
My brain fails
My heart falls.
Breath arrested.

(IF ONLY YOU COULD FEEL THIS)
The chasm you left in me
(EVERYTIME I BREAK THE CHAIN LINK)
Thoughts, they start to sink
(SLIP AWAY)
