Ache

The ache of my bosom
Is such, that it needs
The bite of your teeth
To make it ache
More and more…

And with this
Aching bosom,
My love, when I
Take leave of you,
The mark of your
Teeth - will always
Remain with me…

Making me ache
For you ~
Forever more…

    My bosom bleeds
    yet I feed
yes, the touch of the infant teeth
    it hugs it quite desperate
    that my forget my aches
    and milk the hapless babe

    when the babe chews it
    I cry in pain
    the mischief it plays again
yet my mother does not refrain
to shower divine power to drain........ (Report) Reply

The bite of one's heart is more powerful than a bite of teeths..It leads to the deepest feelings of LOVE.... What do you think, dear Poet? I have enjoyed the poem. (Report) Reply

poet Sara Teasdale

Only in sleep I see their faces,
Children I played with when I was a child,
Louise comes back with her brown hair braided,
Annie with ringlets warm and wild.
