Acknowledge Me, Please Poem by Jennifer Sollmann

Acknowledge Me, Please

Fragile and pale
Life dissipated to nothing
Limp fingers plead
For acknowledgement
Just a smile would be enough
To bring the sun back to life
Stormy masquerading anger
Forces the heart to bleed
Anguished cries escape
Just one word holds power
Everything hangs on him
Precariously held in balance
A single thing crashes it all
A perfect mask is whisked away
A flawless act is blemished
And he holds all the power
Wishes fail to succeed
Dreams become nightmares
Fragile and pale
Acknowledge me please
