Across The Parapet Poem by Edward Kofi Louis

Across The Parapet

My mind is across the parapet of Africa with love!
And if the wind does not reveal it, the rain will;
A proverbial touch with an emotion is what i bring to you,
For my mind is also across the parapet of this world!
But where sin is, fools do rush in quickly.

I am like a poor soul walking down the streets of Africa very lonely,
And deeper down in the jungles of Africa with words;
But if the wind does not reward me, the rain will.
Oh Africa! In my loneliness and of the splashes of the sea;
But i need someone who will love me for who i am.
