Actrise's Last Folly Poem by Justin Gildow

Actrise's Last Folly

Rating: 5.0

On top of the room of clocks
And looking at the clock tower that I soon will
have to journey through
We meet again Actrise
And I can tell you've been waiting for me

I walk over to where you stand
Standing only a few feet away from each other

You tell me you're amazed to see me
After all that I've gone through
And as of now
There's only the blood red moon
The night
The roof of the room of clocks where we stand
now
This roof which will soon be a place for battle
You and I surely know it
And you and me

You tell me that it's still not too late to join
the side of darkness and evil
To join the side of you and Dracula
You tell me you're an immortal
Having slew your child to achieve the prize
of immortality
But I look at you with great sadness
Saying you're pathetic
And that I won't join you in the work of evil

You tell me that I make you sad
Looking at you as your child once did

I had a feeling that you knew that I wouldn't
join you
So you tell me you're ready to do battle with me
So it shall be Actrise
You against me

Floating toward the center of the roof
You're ready to do battle with me
And so, this will be your last folly Actrise

With the help of your scepter
You raise up a barricade of multi-colored crystals
to shield you from my attacks
You raise crystals from under my feet as I run
to avoid being attacked by you
And you fire a couple of shots from your scepter
to attack me

Being quick and nimble as I am
The best I can be
I do my best to avoid your attacks
I throw axes and daggers to take out your barricade
And I throw an axe to attack you
Where a crystal of yours once stood protecting
you
You're forced to start attacking me and protecting
yourself, Actrise
You're forced to conjure up the crystals all over again,
Actrise

Minute after minute
We continue to fight
You've done some damage to me
And I've done some damage to you

I can tell you're weakening, Actrise
And so one final attack I land on you
And you fall to the ground

Putting my weapons away
I can tell your face is bleeding
You use your arm to cover your face
Your magic has failed you, Actrise

You tell me you can't believe that I defeated you
And that your immortality is gone from within you
You show your face to me
And your face is a skull now
Your beauty is long gone

Your magic turns against you
Encasing you in a crystal of its own
Before finally shattering
And you finally disappearing
Forever

I offer a single yet miserable thought for you, Actrise
After that I say a prayer and cross my arms for
your child
I leave behind a crucifix for and in your child's memory
On this battlefield we shared
Your child can finally be happy
Your child can finally be at peace in Heaven
That much I can't really say for you Actrise
Wherever you are now
