Adam And Eve Poem by Talmadge Rogalla

Adam And Eve

In the beginning of the Heavens and the Earth,
Things proved to be a desolate waste,
So the imagination of the creator gave birth,
According to his very good taste.
Firstly he designed and made light,
To fill all space that was dark,
And so he made day and night,
And for ever left his mark.
With wisdom he did decide,
To make and expanse called sky,
To make the water divide,
From that below and that on high.
He separated the great ocean,
So that there was land,
He set mighty plans in motion,
Performing good deeds with his hand.
He made tender grass and shrub,
And many a fine tree,
All the animals like lion and cub,
As far as you could see.
Also man, a garden for him and all,
He made creatures for him to name,
Some were large, but most were small.
They were unique and very tame.
Adam noticed the animals pairs producing kin,
And he began to grieve,
Poor Adam had no partner for him,
So God blessed him with a woman called Eve.
Flesh of my flesh and a rib of my bone,
You shall be part of my life.
As no longer shall I be alone,
So they became man and wife.
