Afraid Poem by Aylissa Ramirez

Afraid

I am afraid to die.
More of what I might look like when I finally do.
I am afraid to not wake up in the morning,
I wear make-up in my sleep just in case.
I am afraid my hair will be a mess when I fall,
I look in the mirror every chance I get.
I am afraid to burn to death,
I would be so unrecognizable that I wouldn’t have a chance to be pretty.
Maybe I’m not afraid to die.
I just get picked on to much of what I look like,
maybe I’m afraid just to live my life as is.
