Against A Dusky Night Poem by Eric Rhodes

Against A Dusky Night

Rating: 5.0

Under a muffled gray sky
you rise like the morning sun
stretching from the horizon
with amber rays against a dusky night.

I am mesmerized by your eyes,
two deep pools of soulful joy
which hold me in their gaze
like tendrils of a climbing rose.

as I lean down to kiss your lips,
my body flows like the scent of
Ethiopian coffee trailing from the next room
and embraces our senses in a menage a trois.

There is only now to make this moment,
so the light is turned down against the suns advance
and with a sigh I eclipse your brightness to savor
the sweet taste of love.
