Ah, Facts
AH, FACTS
'Just the facts, ma'em-- just the facts! '
-- ol' Sgt. Friday-Jack Webb used to say--
and that's a way of arriving at the truth,
but a fact's a mediocre word-- will take you nowhere--
save -- perhaps-- back to itself!
Metaphor, however, is a magic-carpet ride --
whisking you away-- outdoors, perhaps,
-- anyplace your imagination wants you to be--
and don't even get me started on simily!
