Air Force Man Poem by Nadine Kjaerbaek

Air Force Man

When he came down, they said nothing

No hugs and kisses, no congratulations

It seemed selfish after everything

Survivor of the war, leader against tragedy

Wanting peace for nations

Finally landing a fast G

He planned everything

Every last detail

His marriage was his dream

And when he was ready

They said not for two men

Not acceptable entry

Into the world of living dreams.
