Aisling Poem by Sam Edison

Aisling

As I sat there drinking myself to an early grave
Ordering drink after drink too immobile to misbehave
A fight broke out and a fire started all of the bar began to panic
It was chaos everywhere I looked all of what I seen seemed sporatic
And then I stumbled out of my chair unto my feet
I seen a lovely spanish girl and I felt the flaming heat
Not the heat of the flames but the heat of my lust
She screamed and screamed she was in disgust
This vulgar display of drunken foolishness creating this inferno
It angered her so much that she couldnt fear being burned slow
I grabbed her and helped her escape hells most vicous flames
Then we exited the burning bar she walked away without exchanging names
I stood there and I just observed that glorious body walk away
I knew that I would dream of her many times on every single day
But I let her go by with a blink of an eye she was gone into the night
So I began to walk home all alone the blazing bar was out of sight
When I walked into my cluttered room I began to sober up
Sat myself right on my bed poured rum into a cup
I began to daze off and thought of her that gorgeous latin queen
And then I woke up and I couldnt believe this was all another dream
