Alibi Poem by Veronika Scarlet

There's a sheet of paper in your pocket
A rythm of secrets from beginning to end
You were given access to a piece of evidence
Which states that completely guilty I've pled

If you should point fingers, I'll take the blame
For doubting my confessions have been a mistake
I'm comfortable with the thought of being condemned
But give me a sentence already, for your own sake

Have I any reason to challenge your fate
Other than convince you that my words are true?
I'll say it over and over again, at this moment
'All I can do is think of you'

The lethal injection wouldn't kill me fast
I'd lay there awake, fully alive
Conscious and consistent in my every thought
Knowing there are battles I sitll haven't fought

You've been provided all the power to do as you please
Keep me in your pocket, or turn me right in
It's no use to think of what's morally right
Because I'm about to turn myself into you... with no alibi
