All For You Poem by Albert Witz

All For You

I bear the whip
The ball
And Chain
I'll give no gratifying wince of pain
For you will never kill me
Words, powerless against heart
Heart, powerless against mind
Mind, powerless against self
I try to fight, I lose, my thoughts
With power beyond what I know
Tell me to feel what I don't want to hear
I'll never find love in you
A black core remains after mind
Empty husk of a person
Sad disgrace of a human
Life without hope is not life
Not at all
Dreams are what we made of
In my sleep I find myself
Wandering through my thoughts of barren shelves
Where is it that you hide?
I'll bear the pain for your sake
Bring me from the darkness
