All I Ask Poem by Max McKenzie

All I Ask

Rating: 5.0

Baby trust me when I say that I will never be perfect
I will never know the all the right things to say all the time
I won’t always be the perfect lover
I will not be the best looking
I can’t avoid every single argument
I cannot hear every word you say
But all I ask is that you still love me despite this
I do not remember everything you don’t like
I don’t get along well with your parents
I can’t help but yell when I get annoyed
I will never be able to buy you everything you’ll ever want
But all I ask is that you still love me despite this
I will never understand why you chose me of all the men in the world
I don’t believe I am in your league
I am a peasant kneeling before a queen
Yet you love me through everything
I see how much you love me and realize you have loved me through all of my imperfections
So here I kneel, admitting I will never be perfect
Realizing you have given me more than I have given you
Knowing I will never be able to repay you for what you have done for me
But now I stand, saying I will always try to be perfect
Promising I will always try to give you more than you’ve given me
Declaring that I will always try to repay you for what you have done for me
All I ask baby is that you love me because I will always try to be the best man for you
