All I See... Poem by JoAnn McGrath

All I See...

All I See...

All I see is a withered flower
Through silent dreams it does respire
Exhausted and spent to the past and present
It ran it's race and lost to the sun
It stood tall once in all it's glory
From a vibrant youthful radiance
Now absent of color and life
Grace to disguised grey
The drone of the rains
Choking it's existence too
The song of spring no longer heard
Fell the indifferent petals
A prize for the soil once again
