Alone Poem by Russel Tanner

Alone

In the cell
Last night of hell
“No reason t complain!
You’re to blame! ”
They tell me. Might
They just be right?

“You may be strong,
But fighting is wrong”
I laughed when they told me
I was too blind to see
Tying rivals to the rail
Lands you in jail

With my brothers
I’d size up the bothers
We’d take him to bars
Til he saw stars
Then trussed up the punk
While he was still drunk

On the rail he’d go
The trains would never slow
When my brothers regretted
Or on our actions reflected
I persuaded “It’s FUN! ”
Now who’s the condemned one

In the cell
I think of how I fell
My brothers got life
But in my strife
I see
The one to blame really is me

Me alone
