Although I'M Grown Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Although I'M Grown

But do I own...
The right to forgive everything I do?
And not give a 'hoot' who I do it to.
I'm grown,
But do I own...
The right to do just what I like?
In spite of others who are living their lives.

I may have survived 'my' heartaches.
But others have done that too.
And I may have tasted just a slice of cake.
While others had more than two!
But do I have the right to be rude?

Although I'm grown,
But do I own...

'No one has a 'right' to be rude.
No one.
Not even you.'

Shut up.
Who's moment is this?

I may have survived 'my' heartaches.
But others have done that too.
And I may have tasted just a slice of cake.
While others had more than two!
But do I have the right to be rude?

Although I'm grown,
But do I own...
The right to forgive everything I do?
And not give a 'hoot' who I do it to.
I'm grown,
But do I own...
The right to do just what I like?
In spite of others who are living their lives.
