Amnesia Poem by Rickita Ellis

Amnesia

Rating: 5.0

Sitting in a hospital bed
waiting on the doctor for the results
he comes in and says
the only way that she will survive
is if we reprogram her
but that would mean that she
would not remeber anything
or anyone, not even you, her parents
and friends, and family

hoping for a way to escape
from this prison that holds me hostage
my faith dwindles
unable to endure against my heart
which makes time seem forever
because outside i could forget
and catch a case of amnesia
so that i could leave
the torture put on my mind behind
but my hear wont let me forget
and my mind wont stop me from remembering
all the memories we shared
all because my heart is held hostage
for a ransom
ive been kidnapped
it screams
just dont kill it
i say
a case of amnesia
would be nice right now
because the torture im enfuring right now
i am not going to survive
much longer
so that this process
could be sped up
can i just
catch a case of amnesia
