An Abandoned Dog By Cousin Dale Thomas And Edited Very Lightly By Susan Williams
.
No one wants me
and no one cares...
my coat is all matted
with dirt and tangled hair
.
They left me along a road
I thought it was a game
but I waited and waited
and nobody came...
,
Now it's night time
and I'm hungry and cold...
If only a voice would call me
I would be its best friend...
.
All through the darkness
I waited in vain
but my whimpers weren't heard
and nobody came...
.
For days and days that followed
I lay here by this dusty road
My scarred head just aching
and my blood scarcely flowed...
.
Then on a cold day
I closed my weary eyes
and went to doggy heaven
high up in the skies...
.
Now I never will be abandoned
and I'll always have friends
and never will be pushed out
on a dusty road ever again.
.
So think of this story
and study the minds of men
and know a scared little doggy
would never commit such a sin.

A deeply heart breaking poem! .. Such sorrow to read! ... Maybe this will make hearts think twice about how animals that should be so loved and dear are left to suffer oh so alone! .. My cousin Dale does not seem to think he has enough talent to share his work outside the family. I think he has a sweet gentle voice that he should share with others.

A sad poem of an abandoned dog. But i am happy that it is now in heaven, safe and secure. A poem that deserves all stars.
