An Apology Poem (For My Poemhunter Kind Readers) Poem by Shalom Freedman

An Apology Poem (For My Poemhunter Kind Readers)

To all those who through the years
Have read a poem of mine
And said a nice word
And sent a poem of theirs
And have not been answered
I apologize-

I know how much
A kind word,
A small word,
A bit of recognition means-

I should have been better
More generous of my time
Whose preciousness
I have always over- estimated

Thank you again
Anyone who has read
Or said a nice word
To or about me

You have better than I have
You have lifted my soul
By your kindness.
