An Eternity Left To Go Poem by Eric Paeplow

An Eternity Left To Go

On sullen ground, bleak and cold
My sentence, forever, with an eternity left to go
Having fallen from the sky, so high
Now earthbound, alone and unable to fly

Why have you laid waste to my flight?
With your sins and whims and lack of sight
Blind to the realities, of what you do
By never really caring, what you damn, or who

Now wingless and alone, unable to escape
Forsaken here, left to suffer, my solitary fate
For the deeds you do, for all those souls you cast aside
As you trample the weak, now piled upon high

For your sins, I have been forsaken, forever cast aside
Lying here, lost and broken
Upon the carnage of all your deeds, unkind
And all those broken souls, you have left behind

For I am now a fallen angel, unable to fly
No longer able to soar above the clouds, in the heavens high
I am left here, lost and alone, to suffer my solitary fate
And damned to my eternity, for all your deeds of hate
