An Expected Call? Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

An Expected Call?

I dare you to make the first move,
To pick up your phone and dial,
The number that I’ll give you,
And to my face ~ you’ll bring a smile.

It is not that I am desperate,
Nor need an urgent fling,
But your dulcet tones upon my phone,
Will make my heart just sing.

Will you take the chance and phone me,
Become my friend today,
To make the hours pass quickly by,
While compliments I to you pay?

You are just a distant shadow,
On the Internet this night,
Will you make my phone ring now,
And say to me ‘Goodnight’?

Do you need to know my number?
Do you wish this call to make?
Before to my bed I go to slumber,
Or will you phone when I awake?
