An Ode To Love Poem by Arun Maji

An Ode To Love

Rating: 5.0

O love,
I am at your mercy.
You guide, I follow-
like a disciple who follows his guru.
You sing, I praise.
like a priest who praises his father.
You spread your wings, I fly-
like a child who flies in wings of his dream.
You nourish, I grow-
like an embryo who grows in womb of his mother.

You heal me, you wound me.
You care me, you pain me.
You create me, you destroy me.

Who else is as powerful as you?
As gravity holds the universe together
you hold living being together.
As tsunami destroys all sea walls
you destroy all man made walls.
You know not cast, you know not creed,
you know not rich, you know not poor.
You are the greatest leveller
of all differences made by man.

O love,
I am just a play in your hands.
In blink of an eye, you make me a king.
And in a flash, you make me a beggar.
In blink of an eye, you make me ecstatic
And in a flash, you tear my heart apart.
I am so little, I am so lost
before you.

I am not sure
if you are made of God
or God is made of you.
I have not seen God in action,
but I have seen you in action.
I have seen you
transforming a sinner to a sage
and a fool to a wise.

With your grace I now know-
within you resides God,
in you speaks God,
on you trusts God.
If I worship you, I worship God.
